Offspring are gifts—they bring us joy and love, and in the end they are our legacy. With a spark and a curiosity, they are full of energy, playful, and unique.
They are tiny pieces of our hearts walking around exploring, learning, and growing. Like springs of water, they will emerge from the ground and rise up. We, their parents, teachers, or mentors, are responsible to nurture, encourage, and guide them. Our ultimate goal is to see them soar to great heights.
Offspring is dedicated to my friend, teacher, and mentor, Robert Spring. It was premiered by my friends Katherine Breeden and Taylor Stirm at the 50th Anniversary of ICA Clarinetfest in Denver, CO, July 2023.
