Robert Spring and Jorge Montilla premiere Theresa's work, Solar Flair, for two clarinets on Dr. Spring's fall recital. The work was commissioned by Dr. Spring in the summer of 2004. Theresa will take part in a pre-concert talk in which the audience may ask questions of the composers.

Theresa's piece, Mingling Contradictions, premiered on the ASU Composition Studio Recital in Katzin Concert Hall. This piece (for Violin, Clarinet, Piano, and Electronics) was written as a collaboration with two choreographers, Wendy Jones and Tara McFarland, of the ASU Dance Department.

She has completed her thesis piece, which is a work entitled Aspirations, for Chamber Orchestra. She will perform the works of Roberto Sierra, Carl Mara von Weber, and Johannes Brahms. 11/2/04 Theresa performs the Brahms Trio in A minor, Op. 114 on a Chamber Music Recital with pianist Christi Leman and cellist Jenna Dalbey. 10/25/04 Theresa performs Rothko Landscapes, a clarinet quartet by Jody Rockmaker, on an ASU Composition Faculty recital. 9/13/04 Robert Spring and Jorge Montilla perform Solar Flair on the ASU Composition Studio recital. 9/12/04 Robert Spring and Jorge Montilla premiere Theresa's work, Solar Flair, for two clarinets on Dr. Spring's fall recital. The work was commissioned by Dr. Spring in the summer of 2004. Theresa will take part in a pre-concert talk in which the audience may ask questions of the composers. 7/4/04-7/11/04 Theresa travels to Ostend, Belgium to study clarinet at the Belgian Clarinet Academy. Her teachers include: Eddy VanOosthuyse, Robert Walzel, and Robert Spring. 6/19/04 Theresa's piece, Character Sketches, receives its New York debut performance at the Flea Theater in Manhattan. The piece is being performed on a concert dedicated to music of young composers, which is part of the American Composer's Alliance 2004 American Music Festival. 4/16/04 Theresa will give a masters clarinet recital at Arizona State University in the Recital Hall at 7:30pm. She will perform works by: Paul Harvey, Victor Babin, Jean Francaix, and Bohuslav Martinu. 4/12/04 Theresa's piece, A Dream, for soprano and piano, is premiered by Victoria Sanchez and Christi Leman on the ASU Composition Studio Recital. The text is a poem by Antoinette De Coursey Patterson. 2/9/04 Theres's piece, Imprints for full orchestra, is premiered by the ASU Symphony Orchestra. Theresa is the winner of the ASU Concert of Soloists Composition Contest and recipient of the Grant Fletcher Memorial Award in Musical Composition. 11/17/03 Theresa's piece, Mingling Contradictions, premiered on the ASU Composition Studio Recital in Katzin Concert Hall. This piece (for Violin, Clarinet, Piano, and Electronics) was written as a collaboration with two choreographers, Wendy Jones and Tara McFarland, of the ASU Dance Department. 11/14/03 Theresa won the ASU Orchestra Composition Competition. Her piece, Imprints, will premiere in the spring on the ASU Symphony Orchestra's Concert of Soloists in Gammage Auditorium (Tempe, Arizona). Theresa's piece, Mingling Contradictions, was performed at a dance showing for an ASU choreography class. 8/8/03 Theresa Murphy became Theresa Martin when she married Josh Martin in Appleton, Wisconsin.
